Vassar Rowing alumni have come together to strengthen the team for the long run. The work is simple to describe and takes a lot of hands: stay connected, show up once a year, give on Brewer Day, and build an endowment that funds coaching for decades.

Rowing at Vassar goes back to the 1880s. The College's own archives call it Vassar's first sport.
The stretch of river the team rows today carried the Poughkeepsie Regatta for decades, the premier intercollegiate race in the country. In 1936 the University of Washington crew won here on its way to the Berlin Olympics, the story told in The Boys in the Boat. Vassar's boathouse sits on that water.
We're collecting the program's history, photos, and stories from every era. If you have a shoebox, we want to see it.
The effort is run by alumni volunteers working alongside Vassar Athletics and Advancement. A small board sets direction; committees do the work. Every committee has a chair, a student representative, and someone whose whole job is to keep it moving.
